During terms 3 and 4, year 6 have been working on a project for the year 6 exhibition. The exhibition is an annual event for all year 6 girls. We were all put into groups and given a topic/focus  that we were interested in.  The focus for my group was “War”. Each group had to made up three lines of inquiry and one central idea that related to their topic. Every day the two year 6 classes came together to…

This week we had year 7 orientation for 2018. There were many girls from different schools together with the current year 6 girls from Roseville. The first day mainly consisted of tests and in the afternoon we were put in groups to experience sample classes. Netball

Netball

I have been really looking forward to playing school netball this term as along with tennis it is one of my favourite activities. My team has been playing at Centennial Park which is easy to get to although we do have to play at North Parramatta at least once. It has taken a few weeks for our team to gel and to work out our strengths and weaknesses, but last week it all started to come together as we won…

Edinburgh

Edinburgh

Hi readers, I hope you are having or had a great holiday. I definitely am. My mum and I, my Aunty and my cousin Joe, took the train to Edinburgh to stay at my Aunty’s house. Her house is by the seaside and the location is very handy for my Aunty and Joe to play on the beach and run around on the big football pitch. While we were in Edinburgh we visited the Camera Obscura and the World of…

I am still feeling very tired after the long journey, but I am getting over the jetlag quickly. My grandma lives next to Kendal Castle where…

Passion Project Week 7

Passion Project Week 7

Reflection  At the beginning of my project I was not sure whether I would be able to complete this task as I had never made a quilt before. I set myself three goals I wanted to achieve: planning and design, how to use a sewing machine and learning how to sew more than two pieces of material together. I am very happy that I achieved all of my goals. The goal I am really happy with is that I learnt how…

Passion Project Week 6

Passion Project Week 6

I am so happy with my quilt, and I think it looks amazing. Catherine came around to show me how to finish the quilt off and she taught me how to sew three layers together by doing love hearts. My quilt is finished and now I just have to think of an effective way to present my quilt. I think the best way to present it is to have a step by step guide of the process I went through…

Passion Project Week 5

Passion Project Week 5

I am really happy with how my quilt is turning out. I went back to the material shop to buy some wadding which is the soft stuffing that you put into the quilt, and we also brought some backing material, so I could start the second and third layer of my quilt. I started off this week by cutting the wadding and the backing material to the same size as the top layer of the quilt. I had to cut…
